These machines enhance treatment efficiency, potentially reducing both visit duration and frequency.

Our center also boasts the largest water filtration system in Broward County, with three backup purifying tanks. Supported by AmeriWater equipment, the premier provider of water treatment equipment for dialysis, our system ensures the purity of the water used in dialysis, safeguarding our patients’ health.

Quality, Treatment, and Water Purification

Hemodialysis is a renal treatment that involves filtering toxins and water from the blood in patients with advanced kidney failure. One of the most critical elements of hemodialysis is the quality of the water used in producing dialysis fluid.

At Professional Dialysis Center (PDC), we use a reverse osmosis (RO) water system, a technological purification process that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove unwanted molecules and large particles, including contaminants and sediments such as chlorine, salt, and dirt,” explains Dr. Dunia Hernandez, nephrologist.

100% PURE

According to Dr. Hernandez, PDC’s water system includes four carbon tanks—two primary tanks and two backup tanks for handling any increase in chlorine or chloramines. The system is reinforced with a water softener to remove calcium and magnesium, ensuring 100% pure water for dialysis.

“Our water system also includes endotoxin filters to eliminate any bacteria from the water used in dialysis, making it safe for our patients”, adds Dr. Hernandez.
